Lots of people have contacted me and linked IBS with lots of different antidepressants. I am seeing my IBS Consultant on 8 September and intend discussing it with him. I will post a message if i get any information. My Psychiatrist was unaware of any link!

Figure me if I've already passed this on to you, but I couldn't remember if I have or not. There is a great article on the web about this subject. It was written by three doctors at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill which has the world's leading research center on IBS.
I'm not sure how to pull the link up, but I just type in the title of the article on the web and it comes up. Try that! It's called "The Use of Antidepressants in the Treatment of Irritable Bowel." I printed the entire article the other day and took it by my psychiatrist's office so that I could discuss it with him at the next visit. Good luck!

Have just been reading this thread,and wanting to first of all welcome you to the boards,and to say hi to a fellow Brit! I'm a bit further north than you though (glasgow)!!
I find that stress definetly worsens my IBS,and have found a great deal of help and support on the boards,it is just great to know you are not alone.
I hope you get a lot of information that will help you from this site.
