Hello to all,
I just began the diet on Monday and in two days my diarrhea was under control. I had a bad relapse last night which was, I am sure, due to trying to slowly add things according to the list given in the book. However, certain things are unclear:
1. "veggies" ----which ones mainly??? I started with
cooked greens and it did not go well.
2. I don't see(at least up to this point in reading)
peanut butter mentioned.
3. How about unflavored gelatin to get protein?
4. I guess ground turkey is bad stuff because of dark
meat and fat.
5. What can one do with plain pasta? It is horrible
to get down/
Thank you
WS

Try taking your veggies (any kind you like) and pureeing them into a pasta sauce to help get your pasta down. Or, finely chop and mix with pasta. The more chopped/pureed it is, the easier it is to digest.

Use peanut butter carefully. You can have a tiny bit on a big slice of white bread. Peanut butter is pretty much treated like a fat - just have a little.

If you use the kind of ground turkey made from turkey breast, you'll be okay.

Hi-
When you say pasta sauce I don't know what to use. At this stage - I am practically afraid of anything!

No problem. Don't be ascared! Do you have The First Year? Heather had a gread asparagus lemon recipe that's pureed. I used her recipe to make my own artichoke here: web page

Another I can think of right now is from Eating for IBS with linguine with the sauce made from butternut squash.

These are the only pastas I've tried with pureed sauces. I've had other pastas with finely diced veggies. One's that's really good is the alfredo sauce and I like to mix in broccoli and shrimp/chicken. That's sooo good! And really easy. Here's the alfredo: web page Another is the linguine with spinach & mushrooms from Eating for IBS.

Hope this enough to get you started. Let me know...

Thank you. I did buy both books but I was looking in the wrong places for pasta sauces. I look forward to trying them
