Well, I'm jealous! I visited Scotland a few years ago and just loved it. Didn't make it to Glasgow or the Highlands, or any of the islands, but next time for sure. The people were just wonderful.
My maiden name is an American bastardization of Urquhart, so when I was a little kid and would see pictures of Urquhart castle, I'd think "hey, home!"

My Father's mother was a MacDonald of the Clan Ranald, she swore by a bowl of porridge every morning, as does my Dad. Of course, he just turns his nose up at the "instant" stuff, he says "That's not real porridge". He's thrilled to learn that I eat it all the time too!

I will move this to the LR but just wondered if you have heard of or listened to Steve McDonald? His music is amazing! He went back and explored the roots of his name and the Clan Donald. He wrote all the songs and they tell amazing stories with traditional bagpipes, it is really relaxing music. I will finish in the LR...
