Cinnamon gives me the s***s. Can't tolerate it, physically--though it smells great, esp cooking with apples. Just my $.02

I never thought about wheather it was okay or not. I'm a C and take 1/2 a teaspoon a day for diabetes. I've never noticed a problem either way. Maybe someone else could tell you more.
Love,
Jamie

I'm pretty sure it's fine....but someone else might know something I don't. I've never had a problem with any kind of spice.

Just about all herbs and spices are actually digestive aids. Biggest exception is spices that contain capsicain, which is what gives heat to peppers - this is things like jalapenos, cayenne, etc. But even capsicain causes upper GI problems like heartburn more commonly than it affects IBS.
If you think you have a problem with an herb or spice (or any other ingredient), just omit it from recipes and substitute with something you find tolerable.
Best, Heather
