Hi all, I have a curly question about soluable fibre suppliments. I have started taking pyslium and have found this to be very beneficial for my IBS. I have ordere some acacia fibre and I am exitably awaiting the order! I have noticed a side effect to the soluable fibre is that it seems to be affecting my GERD symptoms. I think it is the extra mass of food/fibre in my stomach that is producing the extra GERD symptoms. Has anyone come across this problem?? Does anyone know of a better way of taking the soluable fibre suppliment so it dosn't effect My GERD? I feel like I have gone 2 steps forward but one step back. thanxs! Sami

How much are you taking? Make sure you start slow and gradually increase from there, that will eliminate gas and bloating. Start with the lowest dose and every few days increase.

OK, I'm still a bit of a newby here, and not familiar with all the lingo. Would someone mind telling me what GERD stands for in this case? I've had interesting experiences with fiber myself, and think I could learn from and add to this thread if I knew that acronym. Thanks!

Are you taking a flavored psyllium? Cause it could be the citric acid or something?
