Hi all, I am new to this so please be patient with me.. anyway I was diagnosed w/ IBS-D 2 years ago December...I have been reading on your diet that you do not recommend Insoluble fibre.....see, thats strange to me, cause I am on High fibre/soluble & insoluble diet along with a prescription Dicetel (calcium antagonist). Anyway, I cannot eat Rice, or white breads and such, it just kills me, just wondering if anyone experiences the same, or am I an x-file??

Hi - there's a big difference between eating insoluble fiber carefully, and just not eating it at all. Check the diet faq right here for details about this, and also check out the recipes on the diet section and in the recipe board for examples. Folks on the IBS diet most definitely DO eat insoluble fiber - you have to for good nutrition and health - it's just HOW you eat it that can make a big difference in how it affects IBS.

And welcome!!

- Heather
