Is this normal? I would have thought that if I already had some bulk in me, I'd want to eat less, but I feel like I'm always going back for seconds...

Should I be taking them a little while beforehand & drinking water first to make them swell before eating?

Hi - As long as you're not overeating because the psyllium is making you hungrier, I'm not sure I'd be too concerned. But I'd definitely make sure you're taking the pills with a large glass of water - that's crucial for the soluble fiber to work properly.

Hmmm...I'm interested to see what everyone else thinks about your question.

Hi Jo,
I kind of experienced the same thing when I started taking the fiber supplement. I found I was also hungrier than I had felt in a really long time. For me I think that it was just the fact that after I began to take the supplement I started to feel better, eating wasn't so scary anymore and I could actually eat without fearing that I would be very sick afterwards. I could also make it through a whole meal without running to the bathroom or feeling the beginnings of an attack coming on. This for me was a big deal. I was able to still feel hungry because I wasn't sick instead. I wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as the hunger is not making you overeat. The amount of food is probobly good for you (it was for me compared to what I ate before the diet and the supplement). Also for me the extra hunger went away as my body got used to the diet and to feeling better most of the time, maybe it will do the same for you. Hope this helps.......it was just my experience.
