I just borrowed my mom's bread machine because I read from time to time how some of you make delicious baked bread - and I need to gain weight so this might help!

In her bread machine receipe book most of the recipes call for dry milk and butter! Help!!! What could I substitute those items for and is it not safe to buy the packaged bread machine ingredients??????

thanks!

You should be able to eliminate the milk powder no problem. I do that all the time. It's like 2 tablespoons or so so it's not a big deal. Sub margarine in for the butter and go nuts! BTW - I have posted some bread machine recipes on the boards - that are dairy free. Check them out. I'll get you the link here: web page

There are some safe bread machine recipes on the recipe index.

Here's a link to the breads section of the index:
web page The ones that are for bread machines are indicated as such. Have fun! I love my bread machine! I make spinach bread all the time in it!
