Is there a particular place on this site where I can see different kinds of breakfast smoothies? I have the recipe for Banna Berry Smoothie, and I really like them. Of course I am eating my oatmeal, eggbeaters, sourdough bread and taking my fiber supplements and lets not forget the teas everday. I just like the smoothies, and I think they might help me lose these last 12 pounds along with my exercise regime. All recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lene

My favorite Smoothie book is called "Smoothies & Ice Treats" by Lindsay Barnes and Amy Shawgo. It's a little spiral bound thing that I found in Filene's next to the blenders - go figure. Anyway - you have to pick and choose for the ingredients that will work for you, but it gives you a lot of great ideas and you can always substitute.

Bev, I love these things. I buy the bananas the grocery store puts in big brown bags that nobody wants because the skins have started to turn brown, sometimes for .99
I mash them and put them into zips and freeze them. I have a constant supply....mmmmmmm
I also love the Toll House Cocoa!! Super Yummy !!!!!

Thanks for the recipe, but I am allergic to Chocolate - of all things! I will substitute rice milk or another ingredient for the chocolate.
If you have any more ideas, please let me know. They really fill me up and I don't give in to my cravings.
Thanks so much.

Gigi,
Do you have anymore smoothies recipes that are IBS safe? I am allergic to chocolate so that is not an option for me.
Thanks,
Lene

I dont really have recipes, you can do a search on the recipe board, and they say there are many to choose from.
Yesterday, I had 3 very ripe bananas, with a handful of ice, 1 peeled peach, and about 1/2 c of soymilk. A couple T of brown sugar thrown in. I had enough for 2 large smoothies. These ingredients did not hurt me, though I know I could not have the same one 2 days in a row.
Last week, I had one with frozen bananas, I had a bag of frozen mixedd berries (read the label, make sure there is nothing in it that will hurt you). It was very good, the only drawback here, is that with all of the berries, too many seeds. eekkkkkkkk, it took hold of my gut the next day.
I always use Soy Milk for added consisitency. gayla
