My stomach is feeling better today. I think my system gets overloaded with all the meds and supplements I take. I can't seem to get any balance as far as my IBS is concerned. Looking back I now know I've had IBS for years it's just gotten to the point of intolerability within the last 1 1/2 years. I was diagnosed about 1 year ago. I've found it very difficult to give up my morning coffee and daily iced tea. Thank you for letting me vent. Also I appreciate the replies I received from yesterdays post. Having support & knowing I'm not alone in this really helps. Does any one have any suggestions on what to put on salad as a dressing?

This is a tough one, since a lot of people on here probably don't eat salads. It's pretty hard to tolerate a salad since it's a lot of IF and the dressing is usually a lot of oil.

If you want to make a safe salad, try using as much SF veggies in it as you can (see Heather's list of SF foods). For dressing, try to use as little oil as possible, get low-fat dressings.

For some ideas, you can also check the recipe index for salads.

You don't have to give up your iced tea!!!! Just make your own - made with your favourite tea (decaf version). As long as it's decaf, it's probably safe. Sugar is safe, add a splash of lemon and tada! A perfectly safe and yummy iced tea.
As for salads, be careful. I LOVE salads, but my IBS doesn't tolerate them well. Look for low fat, non creamy salad dressings. Catalina, French, Italian, Balsamic, etc. Read the labels carefully. Low fat and fat free are your best option. Or if you're crafty - make your own! Throw a little oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, dash garlic powder, any other spices you like, and mix in a shakeable jar. Keep your salad portions small, and at the end of a meal.
