When it comes to an IBS safe diet, practice creative substitution, never deprivation.

Examples? Use rice, oat, soy or almond replacements for dairy. Two egg whites can replace a whole egg. Try low-fat vegetarian versions of red meat products. Replace some of the oil with fruit purees in breads or cakes. Use veggie broth instead of oil in sauces. Bake with unsweetened cocoa powder (it's fat free) instead of solid chocolate. Use herbs, baking extracts (vanilla, peppermint, almond, maple, etc.) and mild spices generously to heighten flavors.

IBS is not delicious at all, but your diet definitely can be!
