Update - August 19, 2025

We have been dealing with acacia Senegal shortages and delays due to the war in Sudan and now we have good news.

Shipments are starting to arrive at US ports and we have received some material just this week.

We are packing and shipping our oldest orders first. New orders will still be delayed by about two weeks.

Supply chain will still be dicey for a month or two but we are doing everything in our power to get your Tummy Fiber to you quickly.

Please accept my heartfelt apologies for the delays and uncertainty. In over 20 years since founding Heather's Tummy Care, I have never seen anything remotely like this supply chain situation.

XOXO
Heather

Update - August 4, 2025

I'm so deeply sorry for the delays with Tummy Fiber pouch orders. (Travel Packets are in stock.)

We've shared updates along the way, and I finally have new, definitive information from our supplier.

As you may know, there is an ongoing, severe disruption to the global Acacia Senegal supply chain. The war in Sudan has affected Chad - where our acacia Senegal is primarily harvested - and that, combined with the chaos of shifting international tariffs, has created a crisis like we've never seen before.

Our long-time supplier, one of the oldest acacia vendors in the world, described the entire supply chain and his family-owned company as "ravaged." That's not a word he used lightly - and unfortunately, it reflects the reality we've also been navigating.

Right now, we are waiting on an inbound shipment of acacia Senegal that has been repeatedly delayed in Chicago, where the warehouse is waiting for documentation release from the parent company in France.

The good news: this delay will be resolved middle of next week. Our vendor has given us a firm release date of August 13th and this week we are scheduling that pickup.

We are paying for expedited shipping and the Senegal should hit our facility the following week. We have a high-speed system for production and packaging so we can start shipping out the same day. We have a lot of backorders, so we will be packing our oldest orders first, and it will take about five production days to completely catch up.

I’m going out on a limb trying so hard to give exact timelines. I can’t see the future and know exactly how things will go down. But I promise we'll keep you informed every step of the way.

Please accept my heartfelt apologies for the delays and uncertainty. In over 20 years since founding Heather's Tummy Care, I have never seen anything remotely like this supply chain situation.

Will and I are really struggling to hold our business together. The impact on us has been massive. Your support is the only thing keeping us going.

As someone who personally lives with IBS, I know exactly how essential these products are - and how difficult delays can feel when you're depending on something to help keep your symptoms in check.

Your trust, understanding, and patience during this difficult time mean everything to me and to our entire small team. We are doing everything possible to resolve this.

XOXO

Heather

Update - July 30, 2025

I am so very sorry about the ongoing Tummy Fiber delays. We have sent out email updates, my apologies if you did not receive those.

As you may know there has been a severe disruption to the global acacia Senegal market due to the war in Sudan, shipping channel disruptions in the Mediterranean due to Houthi attacks on cargo ships, and the ongoing tariff chaos.

We have a delayed inbound shipment of acacia that is now expected to arrive, hopefully, at the end of next week. As soon as that shipment reaches our dock we will pack and ship all held orders.

Supply chain is supposed to truly stabilize in September. Until then I am just holding my breath.

My deepest apologies. It is a really chaotic situation that changes daily and we are struggling to gkeep up.

XOXO
Heather

Update - June 3, 2025

There has been a sudden severe disruption to the global acacia Senegal market due to the war in Sudan, shipping channel disruptions in the Mediterranean due to Houthi attacks on cargo ships, and the White House tariff chaos.

We were expecting an inbound shipment of 40 tons of organic acacia Senegal to have arrived by now and have just learned that the material has not even left port. And now the 40 tons has dropped to 4 tons, with a new ETA of early July.

These four tons arriving in July will only last us about 5-6 weeks. Then we are again completely out of organic acacia Senegal for at least another 2 months. In the meantime, we have no organic acacia Senegal available.

We do have conventional acacia Senegal in stock. But we only have two tons available.

This is the same acacia Senegal powder we have always sourced, with the same specs, from the same orchards, but the fields are not certified organic. The conventional acacia is still grown without herbicides, pesticides, it is non-GMO, not irradiated. It is still 100% soluble fiber, a slowly fermenting prebiotic, and pure acacia Senegal.

After the two tons of conventional acacia Senegal are gone we may not have any new stock until July. If we run out of acacia completely we will switch to taking backorders.

If you want to ensure your supply of Tummy Fiber please place your order now, don't wait.

Update - December 15, 2024

Good news! Our delayed acacia shipment arrived several days ago and we have caught up on two weeks of backorders.

And all new Tummy Fiber orders should ship on time for now.

Not so good news. If you missed our earlier email about ongoing acacia delays, please see below.

We are hoping there are no outright acacia shortages in 2025, but there have already been disruptions to the harvest and supply chain, and forecasts for 2026 are up in the air.

We will continue to update you as new shipments come in (or are further delayed).

I'll do everything possible to keep folks stocked up.

XOXO
Heather

Last Update: December 4, 2024

Hello -

We finally have our new shipment of acacia in house and Tummy Fiber orders are shipping out as fast as we can pack them.

(We've been backordered for nearly two weeks.)

Shipments of acacia out of the organic orchards in Africa that go to France for processing are being delayed or abandoned due to the war in the Sudan. The war is affecting Chad and other surrounding areas where the acacia is grown as well.

Also, ocean containers inbound to America are being delayed due to the Israel-Hamas war. Ships now have to avoid the Red Sea because because they are being attacked.

We are hoping that this all causes no outright acacia shortages in 2025, but there have already been disruptions to the acacia harvest and supply chain.

Forecasts for 2026 are up in the air as well.

Our 15 ton shipment of raw acacia that was due in to California from France did not arrive until last week. We are just now receiving the first 5 tons of that shipment from California.

But we will run through all 15 tons early in 2025.

We will keep you posted as shipments come in and if the supply chain stabilizes. I know how many of you rely on your Tummy Fiber and I will do everything I can to keep things rolling and people stocked up.

XOXO
Heather
