Hello -

Gastrointestinal symptoms and microbiome changes seen with menopause are addressed in a new article by Dr. David Johnson, professor of medicine and chief of gastroenterology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.

He notes that menopausal alterations in hormonal balance have an impact on gastrointestinal (GI) motility by increasing abdominal muscle stimulation related to different patterns of secretion. That can result in a number of gut symptom changes.

And more about menopause, hormones, and IBS.

You are not alone.
