Hello -

Dark chocolate is good for your gut thanks to your microbiome. Dark cocoa is high in soluble fiber, which is slowly fermented by gut bacteria to create anti-inflammatory compounds, leading to multiple health benefits.

Caution - solid dark chocolate is high in fat, so have small portions, after a safe meal, never on an empty stomach. For an even safer way to eat chocolate, bake with unsweetened dark cocoa powder, like Hershey's. The fat has been removed, but all the soluble fiber and antioxidants are left behind.

Need a quick fix for that dark chocolate craving? Make my IBS friendly and simply delicious Peppermint Fudge Cake.

You are not alone.
