Hey maybe next year you should get a CSA membership.
My little farm has produced baby lettuce, scallions, spinach, radishes, turnips, peas, green garlic and leeks so far. This week broc and cabbages are ready and beans should be in a week or two. We have had a lot of rain to make some of the crops grow really fast.
My favorite thing about summer food is fresh herbs, especially basil. I bring a lot of fresh herbs to market and talk people into trying them. It is funny they would rather buy dried herbs than fresh (which they could dry if they wanted to), but once they start, there is no going back.
Has anyone ever used lovage? I am amazed by the scent! I need to try some. I hate celery but lovage has more lemon and curry notes to the scent.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
