We had neeps and tatties in Scotland and here is an IBS safe recipe for them.
3 large yukon gold potatoes cut into chunks 3 small turnips cut into smaller chunks 1 can broth (veg or chic) salt
Boil veg in saucepan with broth and any additional water to cover and at least a teaspoon salt. Boil hell out until very soft. Drain most of but not all of liquid- leave about 1/2c. Mix in large bowl with hand mixer. Add some canola or soy margarine- a couple pats and salt and pepper. (Can also add scallions or leeks or onions, very cooked.)
