Hi,

I have been eating wheat free for about a year now and, as I can't eat potatoes, I am finding the diet a bit boring – rice, rice noodles, the odd sweet potatoes seems to be OK in soup. Basically I have had to change to an Asian type diet, which has taught me about lots of different types of herbs, flavourings etc, but most sauces ie Hoisin sauce etc have gluten in them. Plus any additives seem to send my stomach crazy. I seem to be on Heathers what to eat when you are having an attack diet permanently, although I am trying to add in some veg when I can. Unfortunately I can't tolerate any soy, corn, oats, tomatoes, onions, cocoa, most fruit and veg etc etc. It's a good job I like fish!

Does anyone have any suggestions or links to recipes that might be OK, as it is starting to get a bit depressing. Thank god for this site and the various cake/bread recipes – this must be the only illness where eating cake is better for you than eating fruit!

Anyway, that's my small rant over – life isn't half as bad as it was this time last year when all I could do was lie on the couch (my doctors advice was eat nothing – hhmm that was really going to work!!) At least I can get through a day at work without feeling like I was going to collapse. And yes I take soluble fibre, have done hypnosis tapes, exercise for half an hour a day, do stress busting exercises! I guess they have worked in comparison to how I was – but feeling crap everyday (even on a good day) is a bit of a rubbish way to live your life!

Anyway, the sun is shining and I have just bought a beautiful house so I can get kittens at last!!

Thank to everyone on the site for cheering me up and making me realise that these symptoms are scarily normal – what has the western style of living done to our bodies!

All the best,

Catherine
