1.Use your favorite safe white bread or biscuit -- or angel food cake! (shortcake usually contains egg and/or oil)
2.Ask your local bakery manager to make you some shortcake or biscuit or cake recipe without whatever it is you can't eat (e.g. dairy or egg or oil)
3. Slice the fresh strawberries into a bowl, dust lightly with white or brown sugar, stir gently, let them rest in the bowl at least an hour or overnight.
4. Try yogurt or soy substitute instead of whipped cream if you can't do dairy.
