Could Apple Sauce Be Substituted in Banana Bread?       02/29/04 06:51 AM Edit Reply Quote belinda Reged: 10/09/03 Posts: 474 Loc: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Now that I've mastered Heather's brown sugar banana bread recipe (minus the sugar), I would like to make some IBS-safe apple bread. Could I substitute three cups of apple sauce for the three cups of bananas in Heather's recipe? How much cinnamon would I add -- would 1 1/2 teaspoons be correct? Please bear in mind I will not be using any sugar or any sugar substitute for the recipe. I can't have sugar and I don't like very sweet things anyway. Please let me know.
