Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Enthusiastic Newbie Here!

I am very new to Heather's dietary guidelines. I've been playing around a bit over the past week and seeing what works for me and what does not work.

Today so far was my best day ever!

I had some revelations which I am going to share with you!

Amazing Smoothie Recipe

1 cup fresh strawberries
2 medium ripe bananas
1/2 cup Silk Vanilla Soy Yogurt
2 ice cubes

Put the ingredients in the blender in that order.
Blend until the ice cubes disintegrate completely.

This smoothie really hit the spot today - - one of the best ones I ever made.

Please let me know if this recipe falls within the guidelines.

One more thing I discovered. I love to keep things simple!

Hummus sandwich on corn tortillas

2 small corn tortillas - heat them on the stove with no oil. I use a cast iron small fry pan. Turn them a few times until they are chewy or a little crispy if you like. It takes like 2 minutes max. I used high heat.

Slather them with hummus and make a sandwich! This was sooo simple but so satisfying! Obviously you could add more ingredients if you wanted.

For me basic rule of thumb -- Less is more.
Don't eat heavy food before bed -- this really does me in big time!

My feeling is if I can feel satisfied with breakfast and lunch - then skipping dinner due to my schedule should not be such a hardship!
