Tofu is great stuff. It really has no taste of its own, it absorbs the seasonings you put on it. I used to make an incredible tofu chili that my hubby was always asking for. The seasonings were a little too powerful for my tummy, though, so I stopped making it.
You might consider starting out with something really yummy -- for example, in this diet board you'll find a recipe that Kree posted just a month ago for "Ultimate Non-Dairy Chocolate Pudding" using silken tofu, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and salt -- it tastes exactly like a mousse; absolutly incredible. Also, the day after Christmas JoanMarie posted a recipe for Chocolate Tofu Pie, also using silken tofu, that I'm anxious to make.
For me, personally, however, I don't think I can bring myself to eat a tofu sandwich. Ew.
