peppermint candy - need advice       01/09/09 04:20 AM Edit Reply Quote hawkeye Reged: 06/16/03 Posts: 705 Loc: NYC I tried making this nytimes recipe twice. The first time I stirred the sugar waiting for it to turn caramel color until the water had all boiled off and it crystalized in the pot. I threw that out and tried again - stopping just before it looked like it would begin crystalizing, but it hadn't changed color. I poured it in a pan and it never hardened. Any candy makers out there with advice?
