Has anyone gone to Roys Hawaiian cuisne? big chain a lot in Florida and other cities.

I tried this on vacation with my parents, my dad got this sweet yummy fish. So I came home and checked it out. As I ate plain grilled salmon, steamed bokchoy and jasmine rice. Which was very yummy too but not as tasty as this. So basically I had my local market get this butter fish in. Around same price as salmon so only for special..

So basically you are pre marinating the fish the night before in this thick carmel sauce.

First boil 1 cup of Mirin (sweet japanese wine)for 5 minutes
then add heaping 2 TBS sugar and stir frequently and then add 1/2 container of White mello miso paste. Simmer for 10 minutes until miso is well melted and mixed until carmelizing sauce.

rinse and pat fish dry and set a side in pyrex. pour some hot sauce over bottom of pan and arrange fish accordingly and then pour the rest over the fish. cover with
foil or plastic wrap over night.

cook at 450* on lower rack for 15 to 20 minutes until cooked and fish white all the way through. Serve over sticky white rice and I sauteed a small amount of spinach with a touch of olive oil.

very easy and sweet and tasty..hubby loved it

Fish is so soft it melts in your mouth.. thats why it is called butter fish. Dont worry it doesnt have any dairy..ha ha
