It doesn't take long before canned pumpkin goes bad.
If it stays in the can, it's good for 24 hours (make that 18 just to be safe) after opening, but then you must throw it out.
If it's in a Tupperware container, dump it after 4 days.

Note: This is from my experience of Thanksgivings past.
Your experience may vary.

The best way to store pumpkin (the natural kind) is in a Ziplock or Glad freezer bag (squeeze all the air out when zipping closed).
Store in the refrigerator not the freezer.

As for an open can of hummus, throw it out after 20 - 35 minutes, unless you want to take a chance on getting salmonella poisoning.
