So, I was looking through the latest Better home and Gardens for ideas on Christmas time desserts I could make quickly, people would like, and I could eat at the parties. Try this!
Make the Anti Depressant Brownies found in the IBS Recipe Index. Instead of pouring them into a pyrex pan, put them into mini muffin cups (in a mini muffin pan). Fill the cups up about half way, and bake at 350 F for about 15-20 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let them cool completely.

Brush light corn syrup onto the muffin over the center. Try not to make it any larger than the size of the actual topping, as the stickyness annoys some people. The idea behind this is, to make whatever you are putting on top stick to the top of the santa baby.

Anyway, buy any of the following, and put them on top
(obviously not all together).
- Crushed peppermint candy canes ( you can put a few drops of peppermint oil on top of the muffin before you put the pieces on
- Cherries (you can try almond extract with this)
- Any kind of hershey's kisses (obviously no go for those of us following the diet), or mini reese's cups or m and m's, reese's pieces, etc.
- Candied fruit (orange, lemon, I also found gels that taste like spearmint)

The general idea is, go to your local grocery store and find a candy that is small. People were amazed that I could eat it, and really, they would take one, and eat 3.

Measured out, the regular anti depressant brownie recipe yielded about 40 santa babies.

Happy holidays, and take it your next party!
