Yes the product is a poor replacement for regular cream cheese. It also is high in fat and adds too much fat to a cake or whatever. I haven't made soy cream cheese frosting since the first time. I tend to make a really moist cake and leave a portion unfrosted for me or make a cake that doesn't need frosting like angelfood or spice/bundt. There are some other safe frosting recipes in the index.
