I found this in my mom's recipe book. You can use the mix just as you would use Bisquick. It calls for dry non-fat milk (powdered milk). I *think* there is a safe dry soymilk substitute, but not totally sure. I'm also not sure about if the amount of shortening is excessive for us IBSrs.

8 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups dry non-fat powdered milk
2 cups shortening

Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl. Cut in shortening, a little at a time. Mixture will be mealy with mixed adequately. Store in air tight container, use within 3 months.
