Does anyone have a tried-and-true baked beans recipe that uses dried beans as a base instead of canned baked beans? I want something low-fat with no meat. I've tried some recipes off the Internet and have had no luck. Once you omit the 1/2 lb of salt pork the recipe tastes pretty bland. I've tried just increasing the rest of the flavoring ingredients, but it still doesn't taste right. I am looking for something ordinary, not "BBQ" or "Southwestern" or "Triple Spicy".
