It's very, very chocolate-y and sweet, but not too sweet. Almost like a dark or bittersweet chocolate. I know someone else who made it said it didn't thicken, but mine did - I brought it to a full rolling boil and kept it there for over a minute, stirring constantly. I think that helps it thicken. I put one reduced-sugar ADB in a bowl, added a small scoop of Rice Dream ice cream, and poured lots of this syrup over it.
