Oven Dial Says 325, New Thermometer Says 375!!       09/24/03 01:34 PM Edit Reply Quote Shell Marr Reged: 08/04/03 Posts: 14959 Loc: Seattle, WA USA THANK YOU HEATHER & WILL for suggestion that I get a thermometer for my oven. You were so right!! The reason my Peppermint Fudge Cake was coming out so dry and burn on the bottom is because my oven is really 50 degrees hotter then the dial says!! I just preheated the oven to bake My Great-Great-Grandmother's Chocolate Applesauce Cake (page 110-111 in Eating for IBS)..... I'm so glad I got that thermometer....or I would have burned these too!!
