Re: Applesauce?       09/11/03 03:44 PM Edit Reply Quote TessLouise Reged: 01/21/03 Posts: 540 Loc: Nashville, TN First I'll tell you how it's made, then if it doesn't ring a bell I'll find a proper recipe...applesauce is made by peeling, coring, and cutting up apples, cooking them in a little bit of water until soft, and then pureeing them (or they can be cooked whole and put through a food mill to remove skin and seeds). Sometimes it's sweetened, or flavored with cinnamon. It's referred to a lot on here because it's a good fat substitute in baking. Any fruit puree would work (such as baby food fruit).
