I know folks are always looking for appetizers and potluck dishes--here's one I just came across. I haven't tried it, and I may not because black beans aren't my favorite, but I'm sure someone out there will appreciate it....
Black Bean Dip from World Wide Recipes PLUS, 9-1-03
1 can (15 oz/420 g) black beans, rinsed and drained 1/4 cup (60 ml) water 2 to 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped 2 Tbs (30 ml) lime or lemon juice 1 Tbs (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp (2 ml) ground cumin Salt and cayenne pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in an electric blender or food processor and process until almost smooth but still slightly chunky. Spoon into a serving bowl and serve with pita bread or crackers. Serves 4 to 6.
