Don't worry. Just put the top part in the bottom and pour in the batter. It does not leak out (unless you got a flawed one or something). When it is done put it upside down on a bottle. Then when it is cool run a knife along the edges and then lift out the cake. The outside part will stay and you can pull the cake off the bottom part and then slice.
