Here is another easy recipe. I am sure your friends will love it.

Turkish Delight
1 oz. powdered gelatin
1/2 pint plus 4 table spoon water
1 lb. sugar
essence and food colouring of your choice (I use rose essence and red colour)
a little icing sugar

Dissolve the gelatin in 1/2 pint water in a pan over low heat. Pour the remaining water into another pan and add sugar and dissolve over low heat. When every grain of sugar has melted, bring the liquid to a boil and add melted gelatine. Boil slowly for 20 minutes. Lightly oil a 7 x 7 tin. When the mixture is ready, remove from heat and leave for 10 minutes to cool slightly. Stir in the colouring and essence to taste. Pour the liquid into the oiled tin and leave it overnight to set. Next day ease the Turkish Delight out of the tin, onto a grease proof paper that is thickly dusted with icing sugar. Cut into 36 pieces and toss to even the icing.
