1. Combine 1/2 cup of vanilla almond milk, egg whites and cream of tartar in a non-aluminum large bowl and whisk to mix.
2. Set bowl over a pan of simmering water, bowl not touching water. Beat with a whisk until mixture becomes fluffy. Beat for 3 more minutes, then remove from heat and continue to beat until mixture has cooled slightly.
3. Add vanilla extract, turmeric, nutmeg and remaining vanilla almond milk to mixture and gently whisk it together. Serve well chilled. Garnish with nutmeg. Makes about 6 servings.
