I have not tried this recipe yet, but my mom makes it with regular beef and it is fantastic. I am planning on substituting ground turkey for the beef. I think it will be fantastic. I'll let you know how it turns out.
1 lb lean ground turkey (Jennie-O is a good brand) 1 small onion 1 can chili beans 1 can diced tomatoes (w/ green chilies optional) 2 cans water (use the tomato cans to measure) 1 can (very small) tomato paste 1 envelope chili seasoning
Brown the turkey with the onion; drain well. Add the remaining ingredients (do not drain off liquid in cans) and stir well. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for an hour.
My suggestion is to serve this in a bowl with crackers and soy cheese or over spaghetti. My husband suggests also serving over plain baked potatoes with soy cheese and soy sour cream if you're feeling adventurous. BON APETIT!!!
