The biggest problem I have is growing flowers on the north side of my house. I still need some height in my flower bed. Can daisy and blackeye susan handle shade? There is a part of the north side that doesn't get sun and there isn't anything there. The butterfly bushes sound awesome along with the yellow primrose. We are still thinking we want a lilac bush on the side of the deck and we will wait until Fall to plant one. I was thinking of a bush on the two corners of the deck and filling inbetween with tall flowers and low lying flowers in front. My neighbor has hollyhocks, but disappointed her flowers didn't get tall this year. I do love blackeye susans and daisies, so those are going in my back yard. My local nursery has daylillies marked down - I'll have to go to buy some today. I was also looking at the Bleeding heart bush. Are these the bushes that attract hummingbirds? I love your ideas!!
