My front porch is similar and I just love it! Are you going to put grass right up to the sidewalk? What are you going to use for a divider between the grass and the section in front of the porch you want to put flowers in? What about along the side of the house?? Check out Azela's, they bloom in the spring look nice and green well into late fall. Another option might be climbing roses. The climbing roses are much easier to take care of the regular roses and would look pretty winging through the fencing on the front porch?
