We do seem really similar, I was a history major too And I had thought the same thing, what the heck am I going to do with a history degree. I knew I didn't want to be a teacher, and I figured other than that, what else is there...but I did find it interesting. But without much career prospects, I decided a degree in history was a pretty expensive "hobby" I think taking time off from school can be really good, because it may help you figure out exactly what you want to do. I think it's hard to know right out of high school what you want to do for the rest of your life.
