Sorry to hear that you've been going through a rough time. I know it's very hard. I imagine it must be kinda like a divorce, and I DO know what that's like.
I don't know why the wedding was called off, but if either party is unhappy, or unsure, or whatever it is; then it's for the best to step out, step back, and think about it. It's better to do it now, than go through with something that one of you might not be fully committed to; because you sure have to have a very strong committment to make it work and you both have to WANT it.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with having second thoughts before the marriage, but it would be bad to go through with it knowing one of you were having doubts.
Afterall, you're going to be with each other for the rest of your lives and you don't want to start out without a strong attachment of desire and love. There's going to be rough spots in any marriage, and you sure don't want to start out on shaky ground.
If he called it off, then it's still the best thing for you. You really don't want to be with someone who has doubts about it. If you called it off, same thing goes. It wouldn't be fair to either one of you.
It's for the best for both parties, even if only one of you really wanted to cancel the wedding. So, whatever the circumstances, just remember, Mags, that it's for the best and if the two of you are mean't to be together it'll happen anyway, but if not; then you really don't want to be trapped either with someone who doesn't want you OR someone you don't want. It just wouldn't work out no matter how hard you tried. I've been there!!
I know it hurts and you miss the guy and the relationship, but with time; that will all heal and you'll be happy again and secure with what's happened.
