Good one. I specialized in traffic engineering in college, and I did many reports/presentations on Red Light Running. You would be amazed at the stats on it - deaths, injuries, etc. Just unbelievable. Luckily, some states already have them, but hopefully all will have them soon - cameras. There is actually a camera that can follow your car through the intersection, catching both plates and a picture of your face. It starts recording when the light it yellow and determines if you'll proceed through the intersection by tracking your speed! It's amazing. It can even stay with you if you change lanes. SO - hopefully people will quit running red lights. It's incredibly dangerous and doesn't save time overall.
