It doesn't sound like there's much of a future for you with this job of yours. Can you update your resume and "get it out there"? Until the BIG boss catches your boss in his sloppy work habits and fires him, you're stuck having to make excuses for the work not getting done. If you don't want to continue as you have been, then you need to get out there and pound the pavement. Sounds like it's time....
