Hey you,
You're not alone in being afraid the 'big one' is right around the corner - When I was in school, they always used to tell us that we were due in for a big Earthquake and used to have drills all the time. Whenever we did get a little shaker, I always thought I was going to find my house in rubble. Didn't happen, but they are probably still making kids get under their desks, in preparation for the big Earthquake.
At least it only lasted a second, I hope you got hold of your mum and dad and are all calm now.
