Well, I went off the HRT too, after being on it only about a year. It was the "natural" kind done at a compounding pharmacy according to your estrogen/progesterone levels, and changed frequently dependant on what you needed. I assume this is the kind Suzanne Somers is talking about. I quit it because it was affecting my thyroid, and heaven knows it's in big enuf trouble as it is. I'm just hoping I don't now have thyroid cancer from it.
There are only 3 types of estrogen...H1, H2, and H3. One has been known to produce cancer, another is iffy and another is used primarily in Europe and is supposed to be cancer safe. I say foooooie.........it's all dangerous. If you want to beef up your bod's estrogen eat soy. I can't because of the thyroid disease, but YOU CAN if you need the estrogenic affects. (But keep in mind soy is a goitigenic as well, and you may get an enlarged thyroid gland from to much if you are starting young.)
