Hello,

I've been diagnosed with ADD as an adult & have been taking Ritalin for 2.5 months with gradual increases (now at 40 mg/day). I also was diagnosed with IBS-C about 5 years ago and after diet starts, stops and using the hypnosis CD's, my IBS-C has been very under control for about a year now - about 90% cured, which I never thought possible after nearly 20 years of suffering. I was able to eat a wide variety of things again, which has been great!

I was told that Ritalin is hard on your digestive tract, but figured I'd be a very strict IBS diet follower if it gave me trouble. I had no digestive trouble until about 2 weeks ago when bumped to 40 mg dose. The dose level is the first time I've felt more focused, but my IBS symptoms are back, with shooting gas pain on the left side of the body and bordering IBS-D movements in the AM. Using the strict diet has cut it down to a mangable level for a few hours a day, but when the pain does come, its that super intense level that makes it tough to do anything.

Any adult Ritalin users or other ADD med users care to share their experiences? I'm following up with my Dr, of course, but this is very disappointing for the mental side of the equation if Ritalin/ADD meds can't be tolerated.

Thank you!
