Welcome to the board,

Any illness, particularly a GI illness, can trigger IBS symptoms.

Heather does suggest that juices, particularly apple juice with its high concentration of excess fructose, is best avoided. Check the bottom of this web page under fructose for her comments. However, drinking juices high in excess fructose even with lots of soluble fiber will not minimize their affects.

It can take a while to get back on track after a GI infection.
