So in the next couple of weeks I'm turning the dreaded 39 (!!!!!)

and am joyously embarked in a furious Websearch to find sparklers for my BIG CAKE, little nothings of lighted magnesium-sticked wonder that I can have sent to my sadly, explosive-prudent state of Maryland (booo), and joyfully have rammed in and ignited so I won't be suffered the indignation of spitting over 39-and-one-to-grow-on burning candles to get my Big Wish!

Wait, was that one sentence?!!

Whoa! Got to slow my roll here just a smidgen...! Can you tell I'm excited??!!

I've also just been promised the Mad Men box set, 1st through 2nd seasons plus extras (hee hee hee!), and have just commandeered my own cake, a serves-16 Behemoth Napoleon Cake that's been my fave pastry since I was six, and now get to share with my friends and family in a totally civil way, while after I decimate the leftovers

with my hands on the way home, HA HA HA!! Oop, sorry!

And I've been soooooo goood with my diet for the last month...! I had a slow attack 2 weeks ago that didn't go to full gastric emptying, thanks to me religiously carrying around my Donnatal and keeping Immodium stashed in every vehicle, purse and pocket I can think of!

I'm thinking good thoughts!!

But I really want to treat myself this year. I actually have ancient friends in town who WANT to celebrate with me, high school friends who know I have a "sensitive tummy"

and I'm always eating "stuff I shouldn't." It's too bad you guys can't be there, but that said, maybe I'll heft my lapbook to the celebrations and post randomly to see who's there??

Yeeeaah.

The older I get, the more I regress around my bday!!!!! Fireworks and massive pastry with My Name all over it!!!?!!?!! Cooooool. Hope my nephew thinks it's cool! He's almost 7. Gonna teach that boy to drive some day!!
