Hi, I was diagnosed with gastroparesis this summer. It's been a rough road. Just so you know, it's a big difference in diet from the IBS diet to the gastroparesis diet... I'm also IBS-A and it's been HORRIBLE for my constipation. I'm finally getting on track by using colace and benefiber. I had a moderate case, meaning it did cause vomiting every now and then. I ended up in the hospital twice this summer, once being admitted for 4 days. That was when I began taking reglan. I used it for one month and had two HORRIBLE side effects--1) I produced breast milk. I'm 26, never been preggo, and it freaked me out!!! Apparently this is common. 2) I also got some very small, hardly noticable facial ticks. I now have an appt with an neurologist about this, as these facial tics may never go away... So, I am SO glad to hear you are going to try to control it through diet. It's hard to not eat fresh fruits and veg, but I do get more now by thoroughly cooking them. This diagnosis does present an interesting question-- do you still have IBS? I am not sure if I do. I feel like my whole system is just slow. Sometimes it does get irritated and I get cramps and D...so I really have no clue. On top of it, I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago that showed some strange findings, but my doc honestly doesn't know what it is...so for now she says I have an 'atypical colon'... If you have any questions about GP, let me know. i've learned A LOT over the past few months!
