I'm no expert, but I will give you my 2 cents worth.
Your bedding - consider your choice carefully - PU bedding sounds like it will be hot and sticky in the summer, unless your parents have AC. Also find out about care of it before you buy it. If it's not cleanable or easily washable it would kinda be pointless to spend a lot of money on it. Choose bedding you can live with for a long time, as it's not "cheap" you don't want to tire of it in 6 months.
Painting a room all in one colour will make it appear larger. Painting the walls one colour and the ceiling white will make the room look longer. Personally, my bedroom is small too, all one colour worked best. (I've painted it both ways in the past 7 years). Remember to coordinate your paint with your bedding for an overall effect.
I like some of your art choices. You may tire of the people pics sooner than the florals. I recommend using the same frames on the same style of pics. ie - all black on the florals or a silver on the people - continuity will bring your room together. I wouldn't mix and match the pics. Choose one "theme" and run with it. If you're using posters in frames the nice thing is in a couple years you can change them out and reuse the frames. As most frames are only and inch or two deep, they won't make your room appear smaller unless your overload your walls. 1 or 2 prints in a small room is fine.
Mirrors will also open up your room. We have a set of mirrored closet doors. Makes the room brighter and more open when the curtains are open.
Just to compare, my room has tea coloured walls, ivory carpet, mirrored closet doors, rich burgandy curtains which coordinate with the tan and beige bedspread which is embroidered with flowers matching the curtains. Our furniture is all cherry. (and the DH chose the bedspread!!)
Anyways, good luck. Paint and posters will change your decor, hopefully to bring about the look you want. But a word of advice, set a budget, save the money first, then stick to it. I know you are always struggling with your ibs, family, and balancing work.
And sexy is your own interpretation.
