Okay to clear the air, Heather was only recommending those because they are options. She didn't want to completely eliminate the possibility of other fiber supplements helping people. For the record, metamucil generally causes increased gas and bloating and comes from Psyllium. Citrucel either has artificial sweeteners or artificial coloring that can also trigger IBS. Acacia of course is the first choice of use for IBS as it is the least gas forming fiber out there. The next best choice is benefiber, as it contains all soluble fiber. However, many folks have problems with all of these and end up sticking to the Acacia and the diet for IBS to help them stabalize.
